We are very proud of our preschool garden. The children, staff and parents have all contributed to our outdoor learning area to make it a fun, safe and educational space. Children are able to tend to their own gardens, grow their own herbs, fruit, vegetables and flowers. For more pictures view our Garden Gallery. We are also very lucky to have a huge amount of space outside the setting which we love using for activities and games.
Out & About
At Pimperne Pre-School we enjoy getting out and about to investigate our surroundings. Here is one of our adventurous outings where we met a tortoise, some fish, caterpillars and later back at preschool we looked at some chrysalis!
We recently had a Dinosaur theme at preschool and have been using a lot of natural materials outside in our daily learning.
Our children are often given some plants or veg to grow at home. Some get peas to grow, some get beans, and some get wild flowers!
The beach area is a great little section of our garden that we can create in the summer months to give the children a chance to cool down, paddle about and make a few sandcastles.
Saying goodbye to the big tree
Well that was a very exciting morning! The children had such a great time watching tree surgeons at work cutting down a huge tree in a neighbouring garden next to the preschool (from a safe distance of course). They even wanted to re-enact it themselves, making cardboard saws and wearing workman clothes to really look the part! The tree surgeons were great and one even stayed behind to talk to the children and to let them try on some of the safety gear.
